Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer developer Stone Blade Entertainment set another Kickstarter fund for their new project—Ascension Online. In fact, they are so confident that they can raise $125,000 for their next project within 10 days.
For other companies, it may need them an entire month to raise such amount, but not Stone Blade. That is after they found huge success with the iOS version of Ascension. Moreover, their previous Kickstarter for SolForge, a digital trading card game, amassed almost twice its target goal of $250,000.
Bringing Ascension Online to Android and PC
With their new Kickstarter program, Stone Blade aims to bring Ascension online to Android and PC by the end of the year. As stated on their Kickstarter page:
The Ascension iOS app has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, and players have logged over three million games played online. We think it’s time to take Ascension to the next level.
Following the release of Stone Blade’s physical card game in 2010, it has since release three expansions: Return of the Fallen, Storm of Souls, and Immortal Heroes. They also released an iOS version of the game, along with supplemental promo cards.
As of the moment, the team is focusing on enhancing the Android and PC version of Ascension. It will offer new features such as online tournaments, campaign mode, and a base game that’s free to anyone who wants to play it.
Our programming team currently has their hands full making SolForge. With this Kickstarter, however, we will be able to bring on additional programmers to develop Ascension Online in parallel. We feel that Ascension Online deserves a dedicated team, one that can commit all of their time to developing for new platforms, creating new features, and ensuring timely set releases.
Aside from that, Stone Blade Entertainment is working with iOS partner Playdek to add features like cross-platform play to the current game version.
