Protective cases for Apple’s next-generation iPhone have started emerging on the Interweb this week, showing the mobile phone’s purported design. As posted on China’s TVC-Mall.com, the new cases indicate that the upcoming handset will have a taller 4-inch display, smaller dock connector, and a headphone jack that was relocated to the bottom of the device.
However, the online store gives its buyer a warning, saying that they cannot “guarantee this product could be used in iPhone 5.” Last year, case makers created and sold iPhone cases that were based on a mobile design that didn’t materialize.
How Apple’s Next-gen iPhone Would Look Like
The latest images from the online retailer didn’t add anything new, as its design goes in line with the recent rumors.
There were claims that Apple’s next-generation iPhone will have a 26 percent larger display with 16:9 aspect ratio. Although this is the first time that the company has changed the screen size of its handset, the aspect ratio will allow users to operate the mobile phone using just one hand.
The handset is also rumored to feature 19-pin dock connector, which will replace the current 30-pin design. Additionally, the device will have an inlaid glass on the back, between top and bottom edges that is made of metal. This would allow the next-generation iPhone’s display to be thinner than its current glass-on-glass solution.
Apple’s upcoming mobile phone will also feature a quad-core processor, which is dubbed as “A6.” Although its clock speed and graphics processing utility were not mentioned, the mobile processor is said to be based on Samsung’s Exynos 4 architecture.
Earlier this week, AMOG reported that the handset’s front panel shows a centered FaceTime camera, just above the earpiece. Other than that, the rumored device will feature similar design from its predecessor.
Expected Availability
Previously, there were reports that Apple suppliers are now boosting their production for the next-generation iPhone. This would make the mobile phone to arrive just in time for a fall launch.
The company is expected to launch its upcoming handset around September or October, a year after they’ve released iPhone 4S. This would help them take advantage of the upcoming holiday season to boost their sales. In fact, this method helped the iPhone maker to reach a record-breaking sale for their iPhone 4S last year.
Moreover, Apple is also slated to release its iOS 6, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and rumored iPad Mini this fall.
