Everyman in the world should, or at least heard of, the legendary car maker that is Lamborghini. Heck, I bet most of us guys at one point dreamed of owning one, maybe some of you still do. While this isn’t a car, at least many of us can afford to now own something stylish and exciting by Lamborghini.

Russian site, Mail.ru, via CNET, has reported that Lamborgini will be releasing two new luxury gadgets, an Android smart phone and a tablet.

The gold-plated smart phone will be the TL700. The phone is equipped with a 3.7-inch, 800×480-pixel screen faced with sapphire glass, and runs Android 2.3 and will only cost you about 1,821 bucks.

Meanwhile, the tablet is going to be the Lamborghini L2800. The tablet will feature a 9.7-inch high-definition screen, a 1.2GHz processor and 512MB RAM for $2,296, which is apparently also the price of four iPads.

This may sound like a groundbreaking and innovative move by Lamborghini, but the famed company has previously lent its name to tech products. These have included Asus laptops, such as last year’s Asus-Automobili Lamborghini VX7 and Asus Eee PC Lamborghini VX6.

However, Lamborghini isn’t the only car manufacturer trying to cash in on the smartphone market. There’s also the $1,975 Porsche Design P’9981.

If that wasn’t expensive enough for a phone, there’s also luxury watch brand Tag Heuer’s Racer luxury Android phone ($3,563), Nokia’s ridiculously $26,806 Vertu Constellation Quest and the outrageous price for the solid-gold phone AEsir AE + Y at a staggering $55,767.

It’s being reported that the Lamborghini phones will be released this upcoming August…in Russia. No word on when the phone and tablet will hit shelves in the States.

So, what do you think of Lamborghini’s venture into the smartphone and tablet market? Classy or tacky? Better yet, would you be interested in dishing out the cash for one of these gizmos?
