As I was watching Quentin Tarantino’s awesome 1992 debut Reservoir Dogs recently, I was reintroduced to a scene that has been overlooked by others (like much discussed scene with a cop getting his ear cut off.)
In terms of action, there wasn’t any. Instead, it was one of Tarantino’s anecdotes between the characters that stuck out.
So, Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), Mr. White (Harvey Keitel) and Nice Guy Eddie (Chris Penn) are driving down the street. They get into a conversation about how black women don’t take any crap from their men.
Nice Guy Eddie proceeds to tell a tale about “Lady E”, who was smoking hot, but married to a scumbag. Eventually, she had enough of her husband and got her revenge by crazy gluing his dick to his stomach.
Of course, this was a fictional story in a movie.
Or was it?
A few days later I raised my eyebrows when I read a headline about a wife doing the exact same thing.
Turns out that this dude was having an affair with several women. His wife, and lovers, found out about each other and here’s where it gets interesting.
One of his girls had him meet her at a hotel, tied him down, blindfolded him, cut off his underwear with scissors and then texted three other women to come into the room.
Yeah, sounds like a really good dream as of now.
Instead of a man’s wildest fantasy coming to life, the women glued his junk to his stomach and fled the scene.
I wouldn’t entirely feel sorry for the guy. It turns out that he met these women, through Craigslist, not just to get some action, but also to get some cash. One of the women loaned him $3,000.
Is Tarantino a prophet? Did one of the women get the idea after watching Reservior Dogs? Or is it just a coincidence?
I can’t answer any of these questions for sure. But, there’s a simple lesson to be learned.
Guys, if you treat your girl, or girls, like trash, then you’re probably gonna get punished. There’s that old saying, payback is a bitch.
On the brightside, if you ever find yourself in this situation, just inform the women that if they go through with this act of revenge, that they could face six years in prison. And yes, those are actually the women who did it.
