The AMOG Livelihood: Lego Apartment

I personally love my apartment. It’s big enough for me to do what I need to do, while at the same time small enough for me to see and hear everything that’s going on. For Christian Schallert though, he’s happy with much less. For still a relatively affordable price in Barcelona’s Born District, his 258 square feet apartment is more than enough to fit everything he needs. Think you get claustrophobic in your shower sometimes cause your feet are getting too big? Wait till you see this video.

Some key points to keep in mind for this story:

  • He’s inspired by foldout elements, so everything is hidden inside of cabinet space, even the kitchen.
  • His bed is under the balcony
  • If he wants a drink he doesn’t even need to get out of bed since the fridge is so close!
  • 100 steps to his apartment. Can’t say he won’t be in shape for a while!

‘I thought, I can definitely live in something like this because at the end of the day, what do you need for living? You need a nice comfortable mattress, nice clean sheets, running water and a stove to cook something. That’s actually what you need you don’t need more stuff.’-Christian

If AMOG had its say, we’d make that shower a little wider, stick a jacuzzi in the back with some babes and margaritas, and put a washer and dryer in there, but we commend Christian for making such a great example of making the most of what you have. Can you believe that space used to be a run-down pigeon loft? Never underestimate what a little elbow grease and ambition can do for your home, wherever you live and whatever DIY project it may need. What a way to impress visitors though with space saving techniques, huh reader? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments: what’s the most you ever had to do with a small space?
