I got three not mentioned. (1.) The scene at the end of Wonderland, where one gang (including their wives/girlfriends) were bludgeoned to death while sleeping by another band of thugs (who work for a notorious gangster in which the victims robbed at gunpoint earlier on), with solid lead pipes to the point where whole pieces of skull were broken away. The worst part IMO was the sound of skull bone being crushed. 2.) In the movie Sleepers, even though it wasn't actually shown, a group of youth home guards "took turns beating him (a smart-mouthed young black inmate) until there was nothing left to beat." (3.) The 3 years of random beatings and torture of Kevin Bacon's character in Murder in the First.

There's an extremely brutal beating early in Gaspar Noe's "Irreversible." Like the wine bottle in "Pan's," but with a fire extinguisher!

Gregg Araki's "Mysterious Skin" also has a pretty f'ed up beating towards the end. I never imagined being hit with a shampoo bottle, in the face, could be portrayed so graphically! Action flicks don't always have the worst beatings, IMO...
