Katy Perry was born on October 25, 1984. She is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Katy’s birth name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson. Born in Santa Barbara, California, and raised by Christian pastor parents, Katy was incorporated into her parents’ ministryand sang in their church between the ages of nine and seventeen. She grew up listening to only gospel music. Katy was a former Christian Folk Singer turned into Pop Singer.

Katy’s parents her father is Keith Hudson a West Coast scenester in the 1960s and her mother Mary Perry an evangelist who grew up in Southern California are both pastors. She is the second child of two pastors. She has an older sister and younger brother. Katy has German, Portuguese, Irish, and English ancestry.

Katy is known for her unconventional style of dress. It is often humorous, bright in color, and reminiscent of different decades. And she constantly used fruit-shaped accessories, mostly watermelon, as part of her outfits and she uses colorful wigs. Katy’s is a natural blonde. She dyes her hair black. She can play acoustic guitar and electric guitar.

Katy has been generally associated with three men: Matt Thiessen – whom she dated for a few years and has worked on Teenage Dream, Travie McCoy – whom she met in a recording studio in New York and they broke up in December 2008 and Russell Brand – Katy’s husband, married on October 23, 2010 in a traditional Hindu Ceremony near the Ranthambhore Tiger Sanctuary in Rajasthan, India, where Russell had proposed.

Katy is close friends with Rihanna. Katy is friends with Perez Hilton, Adam Lambert, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift. Her hit song “I Kissed a Girl” was partially inspired by actress Scarlett Johansson. Katy has a cat named Kitty Purry.
