By now, you’ve probably heard that Channing Tatum has been named People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’. And, while women everywhere are gawking at pics of the Magic Mike star, men have been checking out the actor’s wife. After all, a beautiful woman has to be married to the Sexiest Man alive, right?
But, who exactly is Jenna Dewan-Tatum?
Jenna Dewan Tatum: Tiny Dancer
Jenna Dewan was born in Hartford, Connecticut on December 3, 1980. However, her parents Darryll Dewan and Nancy Lee Bursch Smith, divorced while Jenna was still a child. Her mother remarried Claude Brooks Smith and the family relocated to Grapevine, Texas. By the age of five Jenna discovered dancing and fell in love with it.
During her years at Grapevine High School, she was a varsity cheerleader and was voted prom queen. After graduating in 1999, Jenna attended the University of Southern California, where she became a member of Pi Beta Phi.
Jenna Dewan Tatum Steps Up
After being discovered by a dance agent in 2001, Jenna was fortunate enough to become a backup dancer and tour with acts like Janet Jackson, ‘N Sync, Sean Combs, Toni Braxton, Celine Dion, Pink, Missy Elliott, and Ricky Martin. She also appeared in numerous music videos, such as Janet Jackson’s “All For You,” as well as videos for Justin Timberlake, Mandy Moore, and Missy Elliott.
In 2004, Jenna made a transition into acting. She appeared in several sitcoms, such as “Quintuplets,” “The Young and the Restless” and “Joey”. However, she gained worldwide attention after starring as Nora Clark in 2006’s Step Up, where she met her future husband, Channing Tatum.
The actress has also been seen in the films The Grudge 2, The Jerk Theory, American Virgin, Setup and more recently alongside her husband in the romantic comedy 10 Years. Jenna has also been seen on the small screen. She was in Melrose Place and had a main role in the cancelled Playboy Club. Jenna, however, turned a lot of heads after steaming things up with Adam Levine in the season 2 premiere of American Horror Story, which if you haven’t seen yet, and you should, here is the first five minutes, but it’s NSFW.
Jenna has also been on the cover of BELLO Magazine and has been featured in magazines Pulsate, OK, and Us Weekly.

She is only 5′ 3″.
Her father is of Lebanese and Polish descent, while her mother is of German and English ancestry.
Got engaged to Channing Tatum in September 2008 in Maui, Hawaii.
July 11, 2009, was married on the grounds of Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, California.
Has a dog named “Meeka” with Channing Tatum.
Did an awareness video for PETA in 2010 and is very active in animal charities.
Started a production company called 33andOut Productions with friends Reid Carolin, Adam Martingano, Brett Rodriguez and husband Channing Tatum.
