This April, the convertible version of Audi RS 5 will now be available to US dealers. The car will carry a price tag of $78,795—inclusive of shipping.
Interior and Exterior Design
The car’s convertible top opens in 15 seconds and closes in 17 seconds. What’s cool about this is that opening or closing the convertible top can be performed at speeds of up to 30 mph.
Aside from the open-air driving, the 2013 Audi RS 5 has a handful of luxury features inside. For one, it has a climate-controlled seating that can be warmed or cooled. There are also the optional neck-level heating vents for cooler days.
Cargo space is a bit limited, though, as it only measures 13.42 cubic feet. It is decreased by 2.12 cubic feet when the convertible top is down. However, the divided rear seats can be folded for additional space.
Exterior modifications, on the other hand, include restructured LED light strips, redesigned rear bumper, and a body color spoiler lip atop the trunk lid for added downforce.
Under the Hood
Under the hood, the 2013 Audi RS 5 convertible lacks gas-guzzler tax. Meanwhile, EPA estimates that it can achieve 16 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on highway, and 18 mpg combined. Its 4.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine delivers 450 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque.
To complement this top-performing machine, Audi will be using seven-speed double clutch transmission with launch control. With this, the 2013 RS 5 can go from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds.
